As Sam Hyde said "I haven't been happy since I was 9 years old at an arcade you should just feel fulfilled instead"

Maybe
For me personally having a crush in highschool was the closest I ever felt to being happy all the time it's a euphoric feeling and I guess that actually being in a loving relationship probably has an even greater high

Do not persue pleasure, for thou may have the misfortune to overtake it.

Happiness should be the result of living your life the "right" way for yourself I suppose.

Why do you ask?

Tbh I was also permahappy before 10-11 when the sexual desire kicked in. I found the idea of chasing girls as an extremely painful task.

Just curious, when my mother decides to give me advice I didn’t ask for it always seems to revolve around being happy. She can’t seem to accept that if I’m not grinning from ear to ear 24/7 it isn’t the end of the world

I am happy and pleased by existence and I am neither of these things It is entirely possible to achieve true joy of spirit

My mom's the same when I try to explain an existential crisis she just says "don't think about that think about sunshine and rainbows" they're not equipped to handle this

Some people think that something is wrong if you aren't always happy. Like it should be avoided at all costs. It makes more sense to have a range. Never always happy or sad. Just a mix. I'm sad sometimes too. Or more melancholy really. I feel like even faking being happy or just staying positive does sometimes help you get where you want to go. Yeah it's fake maybe, but it helps and it makes you a more pleasant person in real life and online. :)

To add on to this I was at a supermarket I don't normally go to two days ago and I had an instinct to go to a specific cashier and while I was handing out coins and she was counting them I only then got a good look at her face and realized it was her it was very surreal and it made my day and made me happy again after going through a really bad depressive episode the entirety of October before it
