KF's original purity spiral is harder to pinpoint because the nature of the site, being a gossip forum, ensures that users will make mountains out of mole hills and flip flop on their morality constantly. If someone has a thread on there, the thread will portray anything they do or say in the most negative light possible. For example, if some random guy donating to DSP turns out to be a pedo, the people in his thread will say that DSP is willingly allowing pedos in his community, when in reality it's one guy who donated once.
The sharty originally caught the ire of KF around 2022, because the literal 3 jannies it had at that point struggled to delete BMT due to how large the site was in comparison to how small the moderation team was. They also targeted Kuz over BMT on vidlii, which similarly was only really an issue because of the site's weak moderation team that couldn't keep up. In both of these cases, despite many KF users subscribing to "free speech absolutism" and constantly complaining about how rulecucked the modern internet is, they accused these smaller sites of willingly hosting animal abuse material, falsely claimed that Kuz was also the owner of 0chan (the monkey torture site), and expressed their desires to see the sharty and vidlii shutdown for good.
Fast forward another year to 2023. The sharty's KF thread is officially made sometime around January, and dancingswede is mentioned in the OP. Because of this, the sharty becomes widely associated with 'p spam. On top of that, the thread mentions users conducting raids, which is another thing KF has always had a stick up their ass about due to their site's obsessive "don't touch le poop" mentality. Very quickly, the sharty's reputation as a website becomes inherently conflated with CP spam and sadism, and due to KF's previously mentioned trait of interpreting everything a thread subject does in the worst possible way, the users of KF are quick to accuse the sharty's moderation of willingly allowing 'p to be posted (which in all fairness, might've been true in Kuz's case, and even if it wasn't, he intentionally allowed the wiki to accuse him of it to build mystique around his character), and accuse the userbase of partaking in it. Further incidents throughout 2023 like the groomercord leaks or further 'p spam only poured more flame on the fire.
Sometime around April, the sharty thread was featured after a soyteen showed up to a snitch's house during Jackbox raids, and Null subsequently featured it on his livestream. About 2 months later, Null randomly mentioned on his stream that he wouldn't be talking about the sharty anymore because "that site has a huge problem with child pornography and the admins have no interest in stopping it." By this point, Kuz had stepped down, and Doll had made stopping 'p spam one of his primary focuses (right behind pretending to be a father figure to a bunch of autistic soibabas), so Doll was pissed and felt he had been slandered, but a lot of the sharty's userbase (many of whom I theorize were now KF immigrants, due to the free advertising the site had been receiving from there all year, although I'm sure others were natives that were simply traumatized by the groomercord leaks) felt the criticisms were valid, and started seeking to change problematic aspects of the site's culture and "prove" that it wasn't a pedo site. It should make sense, then, that around this time is when public opinion started shifting on soylita, and people began begging Doll to ban the variant completely, which he didn't comply with, instead settling on moving threads featuring her to /qa/ for being NAS.

Fast forward past the soypocalypse, to Froot's ban of soylita and rule 2 being introduced. I believe he did this entirely to appease KF. Throughout his reign as admin, KF still hated the site, and continuously accused it of being co-opted by drinkists and enabling CP spam. Because KF is known to go after sites they think are host to illegal content, like they did with vidlii in the past, Froot likely saw the shitty having the ire of them as a potential threat to the site. Secondly, this meant adding MPA, something which no other imageboard before the shitty ever had to implement despite every imageboard facing similar issues at one point or another, but Froot felt was necessary, due to KF users for some reason having the idea that CP was a problem exclusive to the shitty.

What happens when people make the argument that posting 'cado is pedophilic because the userbase is notoriously underage? What happens when they say that posting gore is drinkist behavior and thus gore makes you a pedo? This meant soyteens that found the rulecuckery overbearing were heavily pressured to comply, while the KF immigrants spearheading rulecuckery on the site were given free reign over the very culture of it, and nusoibabas from 2024 onwards would fall into line with that culture. The culture of the site was no longer the one that spammed DNB at trannies or made intentionally shocking 'tosses of shoyta and rapeson as trannies to imply that troons were groomers. The culture now was the one that saw those things as deeply problematic and sought to rid the site of them, as well as anything else that seemed to push the boundaries too much. So while KF may not be actively obsessing over the sharty and trying to make them rulecuck harder for the sake of morality, the userbase has effectively taken their spot.

Now, we move to the Quote era, and it starts to become apparent that the jannies, many of whom were around pre-rulecucking to remember what the site was like, are tired of this shit. Rule 2 is followed and worshipped religiously. Every day there are about a dozen incidents of someone posting a risky gigaquote that users are split on whether it crosses the line or is just barely acceptable. People debate about whether or not Froot himself, the man who pioneered the fine art of rulecuckery, is a pedo, because he gigaquoted a pedo on KF, and according to the site's retarded rules he wrote himself, gigaquoting a pedo = pedophilia. Due to these things, jannies have started lashing out, allowing depraved shit on /soy/ daily to spite the userbase. And yet, they still stop short of properly de-rulecucking the site. Instead, they're shooting down content rules that have existed for most of the site's history, even pre-Froot, so they can allow all the furry porn and autismslop that would've been quietly deleted in any other era to be spammed freely. They hate their own site, and want to spite the userbase, but they're too pussy to reverse the rulecuckery, because not only will their entire userbase turn on them, but KF might as well. Or perhaps they just think their rulecuckery is necessary but the userbase's desired rulecuckery is too far, in which case they're even more retarded than I assumed.
Quote seems to think that allowing softcore gay furry incest porn on /soy/ will slowly squeeze out all the hardcore moralfags from his site, leaving behind only the people that won't soy out over German Democratic Republic 2 for using soylita 3 years ago. But instead, it's just filling the site with gay furries that like incest, and they also hate him for falling into their personal definition of pedophilia. Meanwhile, the non-moralfags he's trying to attract aren't interested, because he'll allow gay furry porn on /soy/, but DNB is a permaban, gigaquoting pedos is a permaban, obvious shitposts about fucking grasshoppers is a permaban, posting 'cado is a ban. In spite of all the moral grandstanding KF does, their site was LESS moral than the shitty. So obviously, when soibabas started migrating to KF and encountering these things, conflict arose. Now you might think Josh, who's spent years calling the sharty a horrible pedo site full of groomers and obnoxious kids, might be hostile to the influx of soyfugees at the floodgates, but actually, ever since the 4cuck hack, Null has a soft spot for the shitty, so he's willing to not only take them in, but accommodate them fully. This means that Null has started actually banning people for shit, when he literally never would before, because he wants to make the soibabas feel welcome. Obviously, the first targets were pedos, but over time, Null, of course, has started adopting the shitty's moralfaggotry and rulecuckery fully. KF had once been the only site hosting footage of the Christchurch shooting, so you'd think their users wouldn't have a stick up their ass over gore, but nowadays, if you post DNB you'd almost certainly get dogpiled, maybe outright banned. You can't talk about the Chinny on KF, because Quote told Null that it was a CP site, and rather than look into it himself, he just went ahead and banned anyone who mentioned it in a positive light. KF's identity as a "lolcow gossip forum" or "tranny harassment forum" has been fully replaced with their identity as an "investigative journalist forum", where of course, they're usually investigating pedophilia. KF and the sharty are now talked about online as if they're the same site, because they've become so similar and so intertwined with one another that people rarely talk about one independently from the other. Hilariously, despite this, soibabas still seem to hate KF. In the recent news thread about KF potentially shutting down, almost everyone in it was laughing or celebrating. I had a lot typed out but I accidentally deleted it all before I could post it. I guess I'll just summarize what I was saying, it wasn't that important anyway. (I said this then proceeded to type out a whole new essay)
Basically all I had typed was that I don't understand Quotecord or their motivation for why they do anything they do, and the booru becoming a forum and becoming the main site is one of those things that I genuinely can't wrap my head around. This and Quote's imageboard software he's been developing for like 2 years feel like ideas that were spawned during meth binges, that are overly ambitious yet lack any real potential.
I think the schlog was a symptom of Froot's interest in KF, and tbh it probably should've been used in my essay as evidence that he cared a lot about what KF thought of him and his website. The boorum feels more like it was made in response to the shroom, but also, it being built into the new booru software, and Quotecord's intention to make it the main site, lead me to believe that one of them was unironically strung out on meth, came up with the idea to create a forum for the booru, and thought it was the most genius thing ever since like, bro, the booru gets so much traction, and stuff, and like, we could be literal millionaires off ads dood. meth lmao. And for some reason they all agreed that it was a good idea. Maybe they think that when KF shuts down the users from there will migrate to the boorum, and then from there they can shut down the sharty and use the boorum as a means to formally merge the two sites once and for all or something. But I have no idea really. Whereas I'm pretty confident that most of what I said in my first essay hits the nail on the head, when it comes to this I can't see any rational explanation for it. Which is honestly a running theme in the Quote era. In the first essay the part about Quote was probably the only part I struggled with writing, because "quotecord hate the site and want to spite the userbase as much as possible in an attempt to reverse the purity spiral" sounds like hyperbole made up by someone who's bitter and resentful, but with the wider narrative of the site's purity spiral and downfall, it legitimately makes the most sense. The booru being filled with soyjak porn now is probably happening as a result of that spite, but the boorum replacing the sharty feels like it's some retard's genuine passion project rather than one final "fuck you" to the userbase. Or maybe they think the booru's community of soyjak porn enjoyers and countrywar shitflingers is more likable than the shitty's obsessive moralfaggotry, and so the move to the boorum is their attempt at surrounding themselves with their preferred userbase. Genuinely no clue tho.
